The MOTOROLA MVME2400 Series VME board delivers the performance of the MOTOROLA PowerPlus II architecture and can be fully customized to meet your application needs with two PCI Sandwich cards (PMCS). The flexibility of the MVME2400 provides an excellent foundation platform that can be quickly and easily customized for a variety of industry-specific applications.
Utilizing MOTOROLA’s low-power, high-performance PowerPC 750 microprocessor, Peripheral component Interconnect (PCI) bus for on-board peripherals, processor/memory bus to PCI bus bridge, and VME interface, The MVME2400 processor module packs the best level of flexibility and performance into a single VME slot.
The MVME2400 processor is classified into the following categories:
According to the function size, it can be divided into general purpose processors and special processors. General purpose processors include central processing unit (CPU), graphics processing unit (GPU) and neural network processing unit (NN), while special purpose processors are designed for specific applications, such as network packet processing.
According to the running instructions, the MVME2400 can be divided into CISC processor and RISC processor. CISC processor is a complex instruction set computer, and its instruction system is rich. RISC processors are reduced instruction set computers with a relatively small number of instructions and a fixed instruction format.
According to the number of processor cores, it can be divided into single-core processors and multi-core processors. A single-core processor is a processor based on a single core, and a multi-core processor is a processor based on multiple cores.
