The National Instruments SCXI-1125 is an 8-channel isolated analog input module that provides 300 Vrms of operational isolation and low-pass filtering per analog input channel. Each channel includes programmable gain and filter Settings. The modular architecture is ideal for amplifying and isolating millivolt, volt, 0 to 20 mA, 4 to 20 mA, and thermocouple signals. The SCXI-1125 can multiplex up to eight channels into a single channel of a DAQ device. Additional modules can be added to increase the number of channels.
The NI SCXI-1125 includes calibration hardware that invalidates error sources. With programmable offset calibration, a software-programmable analog switch ground the input to each meter enhancer for offset error calibration. The locally available EEPROM stores the calibration constant for each channel of each input extension in the client signature area. The EEPROM also stores the arrangement of the factory calibration constant in permanent memory, which cannot be changed. The NI-DAQ driver software can verify the gain and offset error directly using the calibration constants. The device has an output range of ± 5.0V and weighs 22.6 ounces. It measures 7.4 x 6.8 x 1.2 inches.
In this model, each channel contains an automatic low-pass filter that the user can configure to either 4 Hz or 10 kHz. With SCXI-1125, users can perform irregular scans, which means they can select only the channels from which they need to pick information, and then scan the channels in any order. Each channel is independently limited to an operating common-mode voltage of 300 Vrms between channels or between channels to ground. In addition, the SCXI-1125 is CE certified with dual insulation Class II operating isolation.
