SCXI-1520 Strain/bridge input module
NI SCXI-1520 (Part number: 777966-20, 186338-01) Universal strain gauge input modules can be used with SCXI-1314 screw terminals, SCXI-1310 connector and housing assemblies, TBX-96 DIN rail mounting terminals, or SCXI-1314T RJ-50 terminals. bridge-based sensor measurements. One of these features is the ability to read signals from strain, load, force, torque and pressure sensors. Another beneficial feature of the module is the automatic calibration function under changing conditions. There is also a programmable amplifier and a programmable 4-pole Butterworth filter on each channel to provide accurate strain measurement. The 4-pole Butterworth filter provides sharp cutoff to block noise while maintaining the highest flatness within the passband. Each channel also has a separate 0 to 10 V programmable excitation source, and each channel has remote detection capabilities. Another useful feature of the SCXI 1520 module is the simultaneous sampling and hold function. This feature utilizes a track-hold or T/H circuit for synchronous sampling applications.
The SCXI 1520 runs with NI-DAQmx driver software that is compatible with software packages/application development environments (ades) such as LabVIEW, LabWindows/ CVI or Measurement Studio.
Parallel mode can be used for high-speed acquisition using NI-DAQ 7. In parallel mode, each channel is directed to a different analog input channel of the DAQ instrument. NI-DAQ Traditional has no parallel operation mode. In addition, the SCXI-1520 has a random scan function on the strain/bridge input module. The random scan feature allows users to get information from the channels they choose in any order, which helps reduce the total scanning time.
