PCI-7344 Motion controller devices, 4-axis stepper/servo motion controller devices – PCI-7344 is suitable for both simple and complex motion applications. PCI‑7344 includes two processors and a real-time onboard system with multi-axis interpolation. PCI‑7344 provides hybrid motion trajectory control and fully coordinated circular, linear, point-to-point, gear, and vector space control for embedded real-time motion operations or host-centric programming environments.
The NI PCI-7344 (Part number: 778916-04) is a high-quality motion controller for stepper/servo control applications with 3D contour, 3D linear and circular interpolation, and PID loop update rates up to 62 ms. The device is ideal for machine builders and end users who need to create powerful applications quickly and easily. The device has a unique architecture in which the DSP and CPU work together to provide users with optimized closed-loop control, motion command processing, and automated system control. The NI PCI-7344 Motion control board comes with an integrated system security mechanism. For example, the watchdog timer feature has a 63 ms timeout and resets the board to the startup state.
The NI PCI-7344 has an update range of 62.5 to 500 μs/ axis with a maximum update range of 62.5 μs/ axis. The motion controller enables the user to capture the stepping output at a maximum pulse rate of 4 MHz and a maximum pulse width of 120 ns over a voltage range of 0 to 5 V.
Each bit can be programmed individually. For motion control and digital I/O, two separate 68-pin female high-density VHDCI I/O connectors are available. The motion I/O connector included in this motion controller contains all the necessary signals needed to control up to four stepper and servo motions, including: disable output, breakpoint output, motor command output, reverse limit input, origin limit input, etc. For high-speed connectivity between the NI motion controller PCI-7344 and other NI devices, users can use the included RTSI connector.
