FBM211 input interface module accepts a 2-wire analog sensor input
Model: FBM211
Features: High precision
The compact FBM211,0 to 20 mA input interface module contains 16 20 Ma DC analog input channels, each accepting a 2-wire analog sensor input such as a 4 to 20 mA transmitter, a line-monitoring digital input signal with a line-end marker resistor, or a self-powered 20 Ma source. The input channel is electrically isolated from the grounding and module logic. The module performs the signal conversion required to interface the electrical input signal from the field sensor to the FCP.
It is part of the Compact 200 Series I/0 subsystem described in the Compact 200 Series /0 Subsystem Overview (PSS41H-2COV).
The compact FBM211 performs analog input applications, which provide configurable options for conversion times and change limit rates.
16 20 mA DC analog input channels
Each group of 8 input channels is isolated in groups
Compact, rugged design for enclosures in G3 (harsh) environments
Execute an analog input application with configurable options for conversion time and rate of change limits
High precision is achieved through sigma-delta data conversion on each channel
The termination assembly (TA) is used to connect field cabling locally or remotely to the compact FBM211t
An external or fieldbus module (FBM) powers the transmitter TA
To achieve high accuracy, the module features a multiplexed Sigma-Delta converter shared across all channels that provides a new analog input reading every 100 ms, as well as a configurable integration cycle to eliminate any process noise and power line frequencies. In each time period, the FBM converts each analog input into a digital value, averages these values over that time period, and provides the average to the controller.
