How the temperature sensor works

How the temperature sensor works

Temperature sensor according to the working principle is divided into:

First, expansion thermometer

The expansion thermometer is made of the principle of thermal expansion and contraction of objects, and it can measure objects at about -200-500 degrees Celsius. Commonly used thermometers are of this type.

Second, resistance temperature sensor

Resistive temperature sensor is the use of conductor or semiconductor in the temperature field, as the temperature changes, the resistance value will change the principle made, we know platinum resistance, copper thermal resistance belong to the conductor class, the main semiconductor thermistor. It has a measuring range up to 1000 degrees Celsius.

Three, thermocouple temperature sensor

The working principle of the thermocouple is based on the thermoelectric benefit, the two different conductors form a closed loop, because the temperature of the two points is different, the thermoelectric motive force will be formed, and the thermoelectric motive force is only related to the conductor material and temperature. The measuring range of thermocouple temperature sensors is relatively wide, which can reach -300-2800 degrees Celsius.

4. Integrated temperature sensor

Integrated temperature sensor is the temperature sensor, amplifier circuit, compensation circuit, etc. integrated on a small chip, it is currently the fastest developing temperature sensor, its advantages are good linearity, fast response, standardized output, the disadvantage is that the measurement range is narrow, generally in -50-150 degrees Celsius, which is mainly related to the use of components.
