Principle of discharge counter
Discharge counters are used to check the reliability of various arrester counters.
The reliability of discharge counter is very important for power system. Discharge counter is an important parameter to record the number of lightning strikes of lightning arrester in normal operation. It can provide an important basis for the power system workers to check the arrester. Discharge counter is mainly used for high voltage arrester above 35kV.
Discharge counter features
Discharge counter has the characteristics of small volume, light weight, easy to carry, strong reliability, simple operation and so on.
Discharge counter working principle
The principle of discharge counter R1,R2 is the nonlinear resistance,C is the capacitor, and L is the coil of the counter. When the arrester operates, the discharge current flows through the valve plate R1, and the pressure drop on R1 charges the capacitor C through the valve plate R2, and then C discharges the inductor coil L of the electromagnetic counter, making it turn 1 grid and record 1 times. Changing the resistance values of R1 and R2 can make the discharge counter have different sensitivity. Generally, the minimum operating current is 100A(8/20μs) impulse current. Because there is a certain pressure drop on R1, the residual pressure of the arrester will increase, so it is mainly used for high-voltage arresters above 35kV.
