Model 239-RTD-AN is one of many motor protection relays manufactured by GE Multilin to help protect motors, please note that typically protected motors are three-phase AC motors. Ge has designed these RTD (Resistance Temperature Detector) relays to provide complete protection for motors in some of the harshest conditions. The series (as of mid-2021) is in last purchase status for Oems and will soon not be available through GE.

The 239-RTD-AN provides circuit breaker fault protection, overload warning protection, ground fault protection and locked rotor protection. The device includes a clear front-facing LCD display that allows the user to view status, temperature and current, as well as other data. Compared to other relay protectors produced by GE Multilin, this particular unit is more compact and can be adapted to most starters. Typically, relays must be approved, also known as certified, to be used in a particular location, and for convenience, this particular device is UL and CSA certified. There are usually outputs associated with the 239-RTD-AN model, and the specific outputs of this unit are analog and RTD outputs. In addition, the device provides conformal coating options for these outputs.

The front panel of the 239-RTD-AN includes a 40-character LCD display for viewing status messages, fault conditions, and set values/values. Below this, the device has six LED status indicators. The panel also includes a dust – and splash-proof keyboard. When the key is not in use, a protective door can be used to cover the key.
