These devices are designed for strip tension measurement in applications where it is necessary or advantageous to determine vertical force components.
They are machined from a single piece of stainless steel and, in addition to high immunity to dust and corrosion, have extremely high resistance to overload, shock and impact.

The standard structure is made of highly resistant stainless steel and internal components are pot-sealed. The rolling machine can be used in extremely harsh environments such as galvanizing or pickling lines.

The first Pressductor sensor was developed in Vasteras, Sweden in the early 1950s and patented in 1954.

ABB’s famous Pressductor® technology is a measurement principle based on the magnetoelastic effect – the magnetic properties of a material are affected by the mechanical forces applied to it.

PFCL201C 20KN When subjected to mechanical forces, ABB’s Pressductor sensors generate a measurement signal due to changes in the magnetic field. Since these signals do not depend on physical motion or deformation, load sensors combine sensitivity with extraordinary overload tolerance and have almost no built-in limit on the number of load cycles.
