AUE-1108 KONGSBERG specifies the electromagnetic compatibility of the equipment
Safety standards provide guidelines for implementing safety-related components, preparing the environment, and maintaining machines or equipment.
It also complies with different safety standards (ISO, DIN, IEC, ANSI, etc.). Mainly on a voluntary basis, machine manufacturers in the EU are legally required to follow safety standards in the Machinery Directive. The Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC is always applicable to manufacturers of mobile robots, and in some applications, Directive 2014/30/EU may also be relevant as it regulates the electromagnetic compatibility of equipment. The Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC describes the requirements for the design and construction of safe machinery to be introduced on the European market. If manufacturers can prove in a declaration of conformity that they have fulfilled the requirements of the directive, they can only apply the CE label and deliver the machine to their customers.
Although other safety standards are not mandatory, manufacturers should still comply with these standards as they help meet the requirements in the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC. For example, manufacturers may follow the guidelines of ISO12100 to reduce the identified risk to an acceptable residual risk. They can use ISO 13849 or EC 62061 to find the required level of safety for each risk and ensure that the corresponding safety-related functions meet the specified requirements. Mobile robot manufacturers decide how they can achieve a certain level of safety. For example, they can reduce the speed of mobile robots to reduce the risk of collisions and the severity of injuries to acceptable levels. Or they could ensure that mobile robots only operate in isolated areas that are off-limits to humans (defined as enclosed areas in ISO 3691-4).
Determining the right standards and implementing requirements is the best way for a phone manufacturer to create a security system. But as this summary suggests, this is a complex and time-consuming process.
AUE-1108 RMP201-8 KONGSBERG Software Update Communication module PD Communication module
Softing updates the commModule PD communication module to integrate Foundation Fieldbus and PROFIBUS PA functionality in field devices.
It requires no special fieldbus or programming knowledge, which makes fieldbus implementation quick and easy. The module provides greater flexibility and performance by using a 32-bit microcontroller with more memory (RAM and ROM). The functions of the fieldbus controller are implemented in software, and the power consumption (capture) of the module is reduced by approximately 25% compared to the FBK-2 solution. In addition, commModule PD supports automatic assembly (SMD, surface mount devices), which significantly reduces manufacturing and handling costs.
