The 3500/50M Tachometer Module is a 2-channel module
that accepts input from proximity probes or magnetic
pickups to determine shaft rotative speed, rotor acceleration,
or rotor direction. The module compares these measurements against user-programmable alarm setpoints and generates alarms when the setpoints are violated.
The Tachometer Module is programmed using the 3500 Rack Configuration software. The following configuration options
are available:
l Speed Monitoring, Setpoint Alarming and Speed Band
Alarming
l Speed Monitoring, Setpoint Alarming and Zero Speed
Notification
l Speed Monitoring, Setpoint Alarming and Rotor
Acceleration Alarming

Rotation Notification
The 3500/50M Tachometer Module can be configured to
supply conditioned Keyphasor signals to the backplane of the
3500 rack for use by other monitors. Therefore, you don’t need
a separate Keyphasor module in the rack.
The 3500/50M Tachometer Module has a peak hold feature
that stores the highest speed, the highest reverse speed, or
the number of reverse rotations that the machine has
reached. You can reset the peak values.

Functional characteristics
Multi-type monitoring: 3500/50-01-01-00-00 can monitor shaft speed, rotor acceleration and rotor direction, compare the measured value with the user-set alarm value, and issue an alarm when the limit is exceeded.
Multiple configuration options: 3500/50-01-01-00-00 can be configured with speed monitoring and set point alarm, zero speed indication, rotor acceleration alarm, reverse rotation indication and other functions.
Signal delivery: Adjustable keyphasor® signals can be delivered to 3500 rack baseboards, eliminating the need to install a separate keyphasor module in the rack.
Peak hold: It can store the highest speed, the highest reverse speed or the number of reverse rotations achieved by the machine, and the user can reset it on demand.

Input signal: 3500/50-01-01-00-00 usually receives a signal from a close probe or magnetic sensor, and the input signal range is generally +10.0V to -24.0V.
