Key inputs and outputs
Customer input terminals: The input can be accessed through two types of connectors, 24-point pluggable barrier terminal blocks (H1A or S1A). 48-point pluggable European box terminal (H3A or S3A). These terminals are easy to install and quickly connect to a variety of customer inputs.
Passive pulse rate devices: Six fan-shaped passive pulse rate devices monitor turbine speed by sensing pulses generated by gears on the turbine shaft. These devices support up to three axes, each with two sensors that provide accurate measurement data and input emergency trip logic.
Solid State output contacts: The board includes 24 V dc TMR voting solid state output contacts for triggering trip action in case of emergency. Outputs include TREAH1A, H3A and WREAH1A, and TREAS1A, S3A and WREA combinations. These configurations provide a highly reliable, fail-safe method to activate turbine shutdowns.
Voltage Detection circuit: The board has four voltage detection circuits to monitor the trip string voltage in the range of 24-125 V dc. This feature ensures that the board can accurately detect voltage changes that may indicate unsafe operating conditions.
Contact input: The WREAS1A section of the board has four 24 V DC contact inputs that provide additional options for hardhard-based or condition-based trip signals. The input is powered via a JH1 connector on the WREA circuit board, ensuring reliable detection of any issues that may require an emergency shutdown.
Speed repeater output: The board provides one speed repeater output for each of the six speed inputs. These outputs are available using RS-232 or RS-422 transmitters that replicate the pulse rate signal for each monitored shaft, allowing external systems to accurately track turbine speed.
