The GE Fanuc Genius I/O module, catalog number IC660BBA101, is a resistance temperature detector (RTD) module with six (6) input circuits, three (3) groups of two (2) circuits each. As an RTD module I/O module, this module is used for temperature applications as RTD sensors are commonly used to measure temperature. In addition, the module is capable of accepting resistance inputs in the range of 0 to 5000 ohms.
The IC660BBA101 RTD Module I/O supports RTD sensors, such as platinum, copper and nickel RTDS, linearization and signal conditioning embedded in the RTD module I/O and transmitted to the central processing unit (CPU) in the engineering unit. It is reported in tenths of a degree Celsius, degrees Fahrenheit, ohms, or counts. In addition, the IC660BBA101 RTD module I/O can be configured with alarm thresholds, Alpha types, and input filter times. This RTD module I/O is factory calibrated, so no recalibration is required during device operation.
The IC660BBA101 is also equipped with a variety of diagnostic functions such as input short circuit detection, internal fault detection, wiring error detection, open circuit detection, over – and under-range input indication, and high – and low-input alarm. Fault occurrence can be reported automatically or each channel can be disabled.
The IC660BBA101 has a resolution of 0.1 degrees Celsius with an absolute accuracy of +/-0.5 °C (typical value), an absolute accuracy of +/-1.0°C for platinum or nickel, and an absolute accuracy of +/-5°C (typical value) for 10W copper with a maximum of +/-10°C. It has a software-configurable update frequency of every 400 ms, 800 ms, or 1600 ms, and the input filter range for each block is 400 ms, 800 ms, 1600 ms.
