The Motorola MVME333S-2 is a VMEbus intelligent communication controller with 6 serial I/O ports that can be configured to be synchronous or asynchronous as well as RS-232C or RS-422 electrical protocols. Onboard intelligence includes a 10 MHz MC68010 CPU with two firmware slots, and 128 Kb of dynamic RAM for data buffering. It has firmware for implementing asynchronous protocols on all six channels (bidirectional up to 9600 baud on all channels simultaneously). In addition, there is a high-speed two-way DMA on both channels, enabling synchronization protocols up to 1 Mb/s.

Serial I/O ports:
The MVME333-2 is equipped with six serial I/O ports that can be configured in synchronous or asynchronous communication mode and support RS-232C or RS-422 electrical protocols. This flexibility allows the controller to adapt to a variety of communication needs.
High Performance processor:
Built into the controller are high-performance processors, such as the MC68010 or MC68040 microprocessors (which may vary from version to version), which provide powerful data processing capabilities. Among them, the MC68040 microprocessor also has a floating-point coprocessor, which further enhances the computing power.
Storage configuration:
The controller is equipped with dynamic RAM (DRAM) and static RAM (SRAM) for data storage and program execution. Specific configurations may include 16MB DRAM and 128KB SRAM (or other capacity DRAM and SRAM), and these storage resources ensure the efficient operation of the system.
Communication interface:
