PXIe‑7846 | PXI Multi-function reconfigurable I/O module
PXIe, Kintex-7 160T FPGA, 500 kS/s, PXI Multi-function reconfigurable I/O module
The PXIe‑7846 features a user-programmable FPGA for high-performance on-board processing and direct control of I/O signals to ensure full flexibility in system timing and synchronization. You can customize these devices using LabVIEW FPGA modules to develop applications that require precise timing and control, such as hardware-in-the-loop testing, custom protocol communication, sensor simulation, and high-speed control. Each channel has a dedicated analog-to-digital converter (ADC) for independent timing and triggering. This design provides a variety of specialized features not available in typical data acquisition hardware, such as multi-rate sampling and single-channel triggering. The PXIe‑7846 supports point-to-point data streaming for direct transmission of data to other PXI Express modules.
National Instruments PXIe-7846 PXI Multi-function reconfigurable I/ O modules
The NI PXIe-7846 (part numbers: PXIe-7846R and 784143-01) is a versatile reconfigurable I/ O module. This model features a user-programmable Kintex-7 160T FPGA, capable of sampling at a staggering 500 kS/s. The NI PXIe-7846 provides direct control of I/ O signals and high performance onboard processing. To develop applications that require precise control and timing, such as custom protocol communication, high-speed control, and sensor simulation, users can customize their PXIe-7846 using the LabVIEW FPGA.
To enable independent triggering and timing, the module is equipped with A Successive approximation Register (SAR) 16-bit dedicated A/D converter (ADC) for each channel. Therefore, the module can provide users with single-channel trigger and multi-rate sampling capabilities that are rarely seen in typical data acquisition hardware. The NI PXIe-7846 has eight analog input channels and is capable of operating in three different modes: DIFF, NRSE, and RSE. The module has an overvoltage protection function and is set to ±42 V in power-on state and ±35 V in power-on state.
In terms of its analog output characteristics, the PXIe-7846 offers eight single-ended voltage output channels with 16-bit resolution, 1 μs update time, and a maximum update rate of 1 MS/ s. The type of DAC included in this versatile reconfigurable I/O module is the enhanced R-2R. This model supports DC input and output coupling. The input and output of the NI PXIe 7846 can be configured for user-defined power-on and shutdown states. The module can also support external clocks. The module has two 68-pin VHDCI type I/O connectors.
