Multiple SCXI cables/adapters
Connect the DAQ device to the SCXI system
National Instruments SCXI Series cables/adapters connect DAQ devices to SCXI systems. They consist of low-noise, high-quality cables that guarantee reliable communication and signal integrity up to 10 m. This allows the SCXI system to be positioned closer to sensors and sensors. Each cable assembly includes one cable and one or more SCXI cable adapters. Each cable adapter has a 50 pin cm branch connector for connecting additional DAQ devices.

Each SCXI chassis requires an SCXI cable assembly to run the SCXI system in multiplexing mode. DAQ equipment must use the appropriate cable assembly.

The SCXI-1349 (Part number: 182671-01) is used to connect the SCXI system to a data acquisition device. The SCXI-1349 cable adapter connects 68-pin E Series DAQ devices (excluding the 61XXE model) to the SCXI module (except the SCXI switch module). This model has three connectors. First, on the front panel, there is a 68-pin male connector. Next, on the printed circuit board, there is a 50 pin cm branch connector. Finally, on the back of the adapter, there is a 50-pin bracket mounted female connector.
National Instruments SCXI-1349 requires the use of several items: Computer, 68-pin E Series DAQ device, SCXI-1000, SCXI-1001 or SCXI-1000DC chassis, at least one SCXI module (non-SCXI switch module), a small screwdriver, installation guide, and NI SCXI-1349 shielded cable assembly, The assembly consists of a cable adapter and a 68-pin shielded cable. The SCXI-1349 can be used with 1 m or 2 m SH68-68-EP shielded cables to connect E-Series devices to the SCXI chassis. Other options are to connect the DAQCard to the SCXI chassis using either a 0.5 m or 1 m SHC68-68-EP cable or a 1 m PSHR68-68 cable. The SCXI-1349 operates at a maximum voltage of 30 Vrms, 42 Vpk, or 60 VDC (signal + common mode).
The user must ensure that each signal connection is insulated to the maximum voltage that the NI SCXI 1349 May encounter. Grounding and other connected power signals that exceed the maximum signal rating on the NI SCXI-1349 cable adapter may result in an electric shock or fire hazard. This can also cause damage to motherboards connected to SCXI enclosures, computers, or SCX devices.
