The UNITROL 1020 series includes three automatic voltage regulators (AVRs) – UNITROL 1005, 1010 and 1020 – which can be easily combined with automated and electrical systems as well as advanced digital services.
The UNITROL 1020 is also available as part of the precast systems COMPACT and FLEXplus. Conveniently mounted on the backplane, pre-wired, pre-tested and ready for installation, these systems are the ideal solution for fast and efficient projects with a tight schedule.

Ensure that all listed items are included in the product packaging and that the items are not damaged.
Mechanical installation
For more information on mechanical installation, please refer to the user manual.
The AVR must be installed in a dry, dust-free indoor area that does not contain any volatile gases, acid fumes, or similar hazards.
Check the installation area and refer to technical data to ensure:
• The maximum ambient temperature is within the permissible range.
• Vibration is limited and within permitted levels.
• Appropriate level of protection and contamination.
• Suitable EMC environment.
Installation requirements:
• Install the AVR vertically to ensure normal cooling.
• Available space requirements:
• 50mm above AVR
• 20mm below AVR
• AVR 10mm on left and right sides
• Ensure that there is sufficient cooling airflow around the AVR.
• Ensure that other equipment does not blow hot air into the AVR.
• The AVR is designed to be mounted to the mounting board with appropriate hardware.
• Ensure that the ground cable (≥4mm2) is threaded through the mounting hole to secure the frame of the AVR with electrical (PE) ground
Attach to mounting plate. Use toothed washers for good electrical grounding.
Installation steps:
1. Refer to the dimensions of mounting holes.
2. Drill appropriate holes on the mounting plate.
3. Secure the AVR to the mounting plate with a torque of 10Nm using suitable hardware (e.g. M6 screws). Mounting hole
Its diameter is 6.5 mm.
4. Ensure that the mounting plate is properly grounded with the AVR. The mounting plate must be electrically grounded (PE).
UL rating
To use AVR in a UL compliant manner, consider the following:
• Rated electrical power at ambient temperature 55°C
• The highest ambient temperature ranges from 55°C to 70°C. The derating is as follows
• UNITROL 1010’s maximum output capacity: 5A/150V
• UNITROL 1020 Maximum output capacity: 10A/150V
• Use only 60/75°C rated wires
• Suitable for level 2 polluted environment
The ground cable terminal is clearly marked as PE
