The VMIVME-2510B is a member of the VMIC Megamodule family, which is designed with general-purpose programming capabilities. The subsystem can be configured with consecutive I/O addresses to save memory. These products (VMIVME-1110, VMIVME-2120, VMIVME-2130, and VMIVME-2510B) are designed with two sets of board address switches to provide efficient memory address mapping for CSR and I/O addresses. The CSR address switch can be set so that all CSRS in the various boards in the system can be mapped to successive memory locations.
Megamodule products are also designed to support 8-bit, 16-bit, and 32-bit data transfers. Specific hardware has been designed in the VMIVME-2510B to support built-in testing capabilities. The VMIVME-2510B supports offline and online fault detection and isolation. The Fail LED on the front panel is used to indicate when there is a failure on this board. When powered on or reset, the LED lights up. After the board level diagnosis is successfully completed, the LED can be turned off.
