The transformer also requires reactive power to generate a magnetic field in the primary coil of the transformer and to induce a voltage in the secondary coil. Therefore, the motor does not rotate without reactive power, and the transformer cannot change voltage without reactive power.

Therefore, in our daily work, electrical equipment not only needs to get active power from the power supply, but also needs to get reactive power from the power supply. When reactive power in the grid is in short supply, electrical equipment does not have enough reactive power to establish a normal electromagnetic field. As a result, the electrical equipment cannot be maintained at the rated working state, and the terminal voltage of the electrical equipment will drop, thus affecting the normal operation of the equipment.
