Description
The GE Fanuc Series 90-70 module with directory number IC697CPX928 is a central processing unit (CPU), mainly used to execute user programs downloaded into the CPU memory. This CPU module is a single-slot chassis with an 80486DX4 microprocessor with a speed of 96 MHz and each Boolean function execution time of 0.4 μs. The module comes with 6MB of battery backup RAM onboard memory and 256KB of non-volatile user flash memory, which also stores the CPU firmware.
​The IC697CPX928 is capable of handling any combination of up to 12K inputs and outputs, and up to 8K analog inputs and outputs. It supports 32-bit floating point data.
​The IC697CPX928 is configured using programming software. It has no jumper terminals or DIP switches for hardware parameter setting. Application software is programmed by MS-DOS software products, or Windows-based software products running on Windows 95 or Windows NT via Ethernet TCP/IP or SNP ports.
​The controller is specially equipped with seven (7) status leds, a lithium battery for retaining the contents of random access memory (RAM), and communication ports such as one (1) RS232 serial port, two (2) RS485 serial port, and one (1) factory reset port.
​The IC697CPX928 is compatible with various option modules to enhance the CPU and provide additional functionality to the CPU. These option modules include Ethernet interface modules, programmable coprocessors, alphanumeric coprocessors, bus controllers, communication modules, I/O link interfaces, and the entire IC697 family of discrete and analog I/O modules.
