The system redundancy module 1757-SRC1 has one optical fiber port

1757-SRM

Description: Allen-Bradley 1757-SRM is a redundant module for ProcessLogix and ControlLogix systems. This module enables controller redundancy by pairing with another 1756-SRM in another ControlLogix chassis. The module is a two (2) slot module with an integrated fiber port that is compatible with 62.5/125 micron multimode fiber cables with SC connectors.

When implementing a redundant controller system, two (2) identical ControlLogix enclosures must be installed. The chassis dimensions, installed modules and positions, and system power supply and module versions must match each other. This meets the conditions set by the redundant controller. One of the enclosures is called the main box, while the other is called the auxiliary box.

The 1757-SRM has a fiber optic port where a 62.5/125 micron multimode fiber cable with SC connector is connected. The other end of the cable connects to the partner 1757-SRM mounted on another ControlLogix chassis. This cable serves as a synchronous link between the module and the entire auxiliary frame.

Redundancy module is a kind of module used to improve the reliability of the system, which is usually used in industrial automation, communication, aerospace and other fields.

The principle of the 1757-SRM redundancy module is to achieve redundancy by providing multiple identical or similar modules, and when one module fails, the other modules can automatically take over its work, thus ensuring the normal operation of the system. Redundant modules usually include power supply redundancy, controller redundancy, communication redundancy, etc.

Advantages of redundant modules include:

1. Improved system reliability: The 1757-SRM redundancy module can ensure that the system can still operate normally when a single module fails, reducing system downtime and failure losses.

2. Improves the availability of the system: The 1757-SRM redundancy module can improve the availability of the system and ensure that the system can work normally when needed.

3. Improve the maintainability of the system: The 1757-SRM redundancy module can be easily maintained and replaced, reducing system downtime and maintenance costs.

Common redundant modules include power supply redundant modules, controller redundant modules, and communication redundant modules. They have different characteristics and application scenarios, and are suitable for different system reliability requirements.
